Down 2 -0

Just remember this baseball fans; Being down two games to none doesn’t mean the Series is over.

In 1978 the Dodgers had a two game lead on the Yankees going back to New York for Game 3 and we ended up losing that series (And I still think we should have won that series if Jackson hadn’t stuck out his rear end and interfered with a throw in Game 4).

In 1981 the Dodgers were down two games to none against the Yankees and came back to win the Championship.

You gotta believe…..

That’s true, but winning the first two historically gives a team about an 80% chance of winning the series, especially if your opponent isn’t Reggie Jackson.

OK, Tommy, but now it’s 3-0. I believe the Sox are going to win it all. Congrats to the Rockies and their fans for a great season, but ultimately 2007 belongs to Boston. I’m not calling for a sweep, but this series should be over soon enough.

It’s Over. I guess the Rockies didn’t believe hard enough. I still feel that 8 day layoff had a lot to do with their poor performance. If they would of went straight into the series they proberbly would of won one or two games. I’ll never forget that night when Jackson did that back in ’77. He should have been out on interference.

Oh was that ’78? Both those years we gave those Yankees a good battle. That was a wonderful team we had there.

I think the Dodgers should have won that series as well.
Little did I know it at the time but my future would cross paths with a key figure in that play. You see I attended Joe Brinkmans Umpire School in 1982 and the lead instructor of the school was John McSherry. John had a great sense of humor. He was fast for his size and took great pride in the fact that he was always in position for a call.

He talked about this play to us about that play. He believed that the interference was not intentional smiled and said it was a good play.

Also since I grew up as a Dodger fan and in my time there were only two managers you and Walt Alston I learned to have a great dislike for the Reds. This distaste was confirmed when A basket of flowers that the Cincinnati Reds’ owner, Marge Schott, sent to umpires in sympathy over John McSherry’s death turned out to be recycled, The Dayton Daily News reported that Marge Schott scribbled a sympathy note, attached it to flowers that had been given to her on opening day by the team’s television affiliate, and had them sent to the umpires’ dressing room, the paper reported.

Any way I attended the First game of that series at Dodger stadium. I just came back from attending the first World Series game in Denver. The Rockies did not come back from the 3 to 0 situation but they are still the best team in the National League. They showed great team effort and overcame great odds just to get to this point.

Winning 20 of 21 when each loss could have ended the season will make them a team to contend with in the future. Much like Cey , Garvey, Lopes, and Russell this infield will play along side each other for many years. Helton will be replaced of course due to age but even you would have to admit not since Ozzy Smith has baseball senn a shortstop like Tullowitski.

I wrote a letter to the Red Sox blog yesterday. The response has been out standing. I even appreciate the people that complained about my ?whining?. Veterans gave our lives just so people that do not care about others can live a great life here in the U. S. For your information I was not ?whining? I asked base ball if they would help a disabled veteran make the facts of this case known. I silently volunteered helping others since I returned in 1974 from the Vietnam Conflict. I volunteer out of respect for those veterans that never returned from our many conflicts and wars. I volunteer thousands of hours a year to make life better for others. The news has censored the truth that my Veterans medical care has been stopped for political self gain. This is an illegal act. I am a no-body. I received three injuries while serving. Two came during separate combat support missions. I can not forget my time over there, you see I have flash backs of my first kill every day. I am not whining. I am proud of my actions as a United States Marine. What I did may not have been morally correct but I did it for my country. (YOU)

In 1999 a family from Madbury NH called me out of the ?blue?. They had read a letter to the editor that I wrote. The Madbury selectmen use government powers to force families that the selectmen do not like out of their town. I as a America citizen could not allow this so I volunteered to help this family. Judge Peter Fauver violated the law to protect these selectmen. The NH Supreme Court refused to hear a case that questioned the integrity of the courts. The NH governor used the state police to harass my family at work and home. I got arrested under the Patriot Act as a terrorist. I lost my freedom for 6 months before the bogus charges were dropped. NH Congress woman Shea-Porter did not like a letter to the editor so she filed a false police complaint against me. I was arrested until the complaint was determined to be false. The Dover and Lee NH police refuse to allow me to file a complaint against anyone. She then had a VA Dr file a commitment order with out merit to take my freedom. Now the NH VA director Levenston stops my VA medical for injuries received in the line of duty. I volunteer to help American citizens and judges and government officials use medical care to stop my volunteer help. From President Bush down to the lowest political official all refuse to help me. News Papers censor the truth. Where do I go.

Base ball as well as those that say I am a ?whinier? have your freedom because our children risked their lives to become Veterans. Is it so much that I ask base ball to just ask publicly why the State of New Hampshire has allowed these criminal acts to be criminally inflicted on a disabled veteran. The State of NH is wrong for what they are doing and I am Proud to stand up to my death to help this Madbury NH family. This is why I wrote the Red Sox blog letter.

i for one wanted the rockies to win this thing. they deserved it. you could see the great chemistry they have once they take the field. and clint hurdle is a great manager and should be proud of his work and his ballclub.
maybe next year the dodgers will be representing the national league.=)

so how bout that joe torre deal?

I lost a case of beer to a Yankee fan in the 78 series after betting with the Dodger’s already up 2 games to zero. Anything can happen.

I attended game 3 of the 81 World Series (the “Fernando” game) in the year of “Fernandomania”. I remember leaning over the railing as we screamed “Viva Valenzuela”! We went on to win 4 in a row and take out the Yankees in six games. That game was one of the highlights of my life. I’ll never forget it. Go Dodger Blue!
