Singing the 7th Inning Stretch at Wrigley Field

Yesterday I sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley Field.  This was my sixth performance there.
Here is a link to the the audio file of me singing:
Tommy Lasorda sing Take me out to the Ballgame 27 May.mp3
I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed singing.

Root root root for the DAAAARGES.
Sing it Tommy.

A potential late-round gem may be Aric Weinberg, outfielder, Concordia University, Irvine, Calif. The school had two players drafted last year — Brandon Kawal (Mets, 38th round) and Keone Ruth (Padres, 22nd round). Through March 1, Weinberg ranked in the Golden State Athletic Conference’s Top 15 in average (.458), OBP (.552),slugging (.792) and HRs (3). That caught the eye of several scouts. He suffered a quad injury, forcing him to miss 12 games, yet he swung the bat well through the postseason. He’s 6-0, 190, bats left, throws right. He has a picture-perfect swing, outstanding plate discipline, the ability to work pitchers deep into the count, and the skill to adjust from pitch to pitch. He’s fundamentally sound, intelligent and mature with a great attitude. Projection-wise, scouts have said he is a legitimate pro prospect with good upside.

You’re the man! May he rest in peace, but your dear friend Frank Sinatra would be jealous.

Hope you’re well. Keep ’em comin’

Harry Caray rolled over in his grave. How dare you say “Root root for the Dodgers”. Sing it how Harry would have, or don’t sing at all.

Would you expect Tommy to sing, “Root root root for the Cubbies?”***No die hearted blueblooded Dodger fan would ever do that.

Hey Tommy,

I could have swore I heard you were managing again.

I thought I had heard this on the radio.

What is your status on the team – GM?

I was on XM Radio and tuned into a Doger game. I brought me back about 25 – 30 years ago, sitting in the backyard in Lakewood, CA at my grandads house, listening to Vin Scully, and hearing about Farmer John Hotdogs.

And of course you managing the team with Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Guererro, Strawberry, etc.

What memories.

You mean they made you sing it a capella? Maybe you should have brought Nancy Bea with youo…

Root Root Root for the DODGERS!!

most visitors from other teams hold the mic out and don’t disrespect the tradition by root root rooting for another team. bob uecker has a creative way of doing it, singing “you root root root for the cubbies, and i do the same for the brewers” or something to that effect. which, while sort of throwing off the crowd, is at least a little respectful.
