That's What I'm Talking About... World Champs!!
I am in Chicago for the 2nd Annual Tommy Lasorda Open. It is a golf tournament that benefits the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame.
I just got word from Taiwan that the 16 and Under Team USA just won the Gold Medal in an international tournament.
They beat Cuba 7-6.
If you look closely at the picture you will see a rope across the knees of the players in the front row. When I gave them a motivationla address while they were training in Fullerton before going abroad Itold them that if they all get on one end of the rope and pull together that they could pull the rest of the teams with them.
It looks like they took my advice.

I just wanted to let everyone out there that Tommy Lasorda is awesome.
While in the chicago area and at a italian resturant in Bloomingdale, he took the time to speak with my 15 year old son about baseball and a few lifes lessons. I really didn't want to bother him while he was dining, but he inisisted. Autographs and pictures followed. My son plays ball in highschool and his dreams are big like many kids. I wish that any MLB players would read this and remember when they were growing up and how they looked up to the MLB players of their time. Thanks again Tommy. You are truly a real gem.
